General Purpose of Position:

The Line Cook position worksalongside the Kitchen staff in the day-to-day operations, including providingexcellent customer service and preparing and serving high quality meals andsnacks for patients.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Prepare the food requirements of the daily menu with concern for quality, appeal, presentation, cleanliness and safety.

  • Serve a variety of food in a high volume setting.

  • Regularly check all food items to ensure adequacy and quality at all times.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Keep all workstations & equipment clean at all times and follows a cleaning schedule for kitchen, dining room, and storage areas.

  • Record keeping of meals served and food items needed.

  • Use the proper methods and techniques for receiving, dating, and storage of quantities of food and associated supplies from vendors.

  • Work together in a team oriented environment.

  • Schedule and maintain sufficient kitchen staff

  • Ensure that all menu items are presented in a neat and appetizing manner.

  • Perform dishwashing & cleaning procedures at end of meals & shifts.

Job Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) years of Kitchen/Cooking experience.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as be flexible and dependable.

  • Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Principles and processes for providing customer services, including meeting quality standards for services.

  • Exceptional customer/client service with the ability to resolve service issues.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

  • Accountability for personal attitudes and behavior.
